Students may exit their course before the drop deadline to receive a full refund. Refer to your Course Toolkit for the specific drop deadline for your course.
After the Drop Deadline
If a student completes all of the coursework but is unable to achieve a passing grade (69.5% or higher) in a course, that’s on us, and they are eligible to request a full refund. To qualify for a full refund after the drop deadline, the student must complete the coursework described in their course syllabus—including, but not limited to, watching video lectures, completing the active learning assignments, completing practice problem sets, completing flashcard sets and completing all versions of quizzes and exams.
In the event that a student is unable to transfer course credits to their school of choice, as evidenced by a written rejection from the institution, they will be eligible to request a full refund. In the event transfer credits are rejected because the student’s grade does not meet the receiving institution’s minimum criteria, the student is not eligible for a refund.
In either of these cases, the request for a refund must be received within 120 days of the course purchase date. Refund requests for any reason received after 120 days will be considered at Outlier’s discretion.
For more information on refunds, please refer to our Refund Policy.
