Considering withdrawing from your Outlier course? Reach out to our team at email@example.com to discuss your options!
Students may withdraw from the course during their course’s Withdrawal Period. For these dates, please check your course syllabus.
What does it mean to withdraw from a course?
A Withdrawal is defined as exiting a course after the Drop deadline and before the Withdraw deadline. This is different from dropping a course, as you will receive a "W" on your transcript from the University of Pittsburgh. Withdrawals do not affect your GPA, but they do count towards the number of credits attempted.
How can I withdraw from an Outlier course?
To request to withdraw from a course, please complete a Withdrawal Form by 11:59 Eastern Time on the Withdraw Deadline for your course. Review your syllabus to find the Withdraw deadline for your course.
How does withdrawing from a course affect my Outlier account?
When you withdraw from a course, you will still have access to Outlier’s lectures and active learning, but your progress in the course will not be saved.
After the Withdraw deadline, students will receive a letter grade for the course. Please note Withdrawals are not eligible for a refund.
What can I do if the Withdraw deadline has passed?
If the deadline has passed, we are here to support you academically! We recommend
- Reaching out to firstname.lastname@example.org to ask one of our advisors for a success plan
- Asking our tutors in your course's discussion community for help with the material
